Rasha escorted us around her beloved city - Cairo
The Hanging Church: Greek Orthodox - no foundations, Noah's Ark roof - not circular like most, no alter or statues are the norm - lots of picture icons
Egyptian Mosque: (Nearly the first mosque!) - Large and airy with a covered area for the heat of the day and open for night praying. There was a woman's area for praying. Muslims pray 5 times during the day from sunrise to post sunset
Egyptian Museum: A highlight - especially to see Tutemkarnim's 11kg gold head dress, 24 kg gold coffin and fantastic jewelery buried with him. The mummies were also amazing with hair and finger nails - they mostly died at about 40 years old - there was one rare 60 year old!
Large Shopping Bazaar: 1000s of little shops down lanes - so easy to get lost and nearly did - stressful bargaining to purchase one red pashmina and one cotton nightie!
