Karnak Temple: Ramses II / Alexander the Great - shrines within shrines. Some later Christian scenes painted over the 'pagan' carvings
This temple was covered in dust for many centuries - parts of it were uncovered and built on - a mosque and christian alters. Now it is fully excavated doors to these are very high up!
Luxor Temple: largest in the world! Queen Hutshopsup obelisk in tact. large sacred lake and very large famous dung beetle sculpture
Very hot and sweaty again!
Overnight train back to Cairo - John and Robyn struggle with the train trip - no sleep - deli belly! and lost shoes make for miserable trip - Kerry on the otherhand writes "We had a great trip!"
