26/06/08: We got to our cruise boat about 10am - feeling grubby from our overnight train trip. We had time to shower, unpack, lunch and siesta before meeting the bus to take us to our first Egyptian temple. Philae temple was under mud and water because of the 1800's English dam. It was rescued and resurrected stone by stone on a nearby island. We learnt from Rusha about the carvings and columns and temple layout. Robyn and others were involved in a role play for us to learn about the God's that the ancient Egyptians worshipped. I can remember Horace but will need to read some Egyptian guide books and edit later as my memory is failing!
The bus stopped in at a papayas paper factory - where nearly everyone bought art work except us!!
