Below is a photo of the mighty Sphinx - I had no idea it was right next to the Giza Pyramids - we must have nearly passed it as we drove up in the bus. She is a lot bigger than I imagined - more hawkers here and begging children who are hard to ignore - if they know you aren't going to give you any money they end up taking your half drunk water bottle which you can hardly refuse. Since I've been home the Egyptian government have announced they are gong to phase out the hawking and begging at the pyramids and just have licensed stall areas. That will certainly improve what is otherwise an amazing experience.
The other photo is of the perfume factory - Robyn and I spent up large - it is only the pure flower essences before the alcohol is added in the perfume factories of France.
The top photo is Robin at the door of our overnight train cabin on route to Aswan. We were all very excited after the big day at the pyramids and then the big journey north to Aswan. The Bernets had an adjoining room but we all squashed into ours to eat our crappy meal! Rusha joined us later and told us about her pending marriage to Sam and her wish to complete her masters degree in England.
